Why I Became a Personal Trainer

In February 2024 I started my personal training journey. I had fallen in love with exercise and how amazing it can make you feel and wanted others to experience the same. There is so much joy to moving your body and building self confidence.

Midwifery + Fitness = PT Platts

My sister and I went on a well-being walk at the start of last year and within 2 hours of walking and talking, we brainstormed PT Platts. I wanted to combine my new passion for fitness and love for midwifery, to provide a safe and caring space for women to exercise during the perinatal period.

I started my midwifery training in 2016 and have been a qualified NHS midwife for 5 years. Midwifery has taught me so much and it is an honour to build relationships with hundreds of families and be there through such a pivotal time in their lives.

What PT Means to Me

Personal training has brought me an advanced understanding and appreciation for the human body and also self discipline as the diploma has been super challenging (but rewarding). Exercise has helped me through tough times and connected me with many people.

What is personal training to me? A PT is a person who helps people build self confidence, aids motivation, is committed to other people’s fitness / health goals. They are someone who provides guidance and support.

I am so excited for what 2025 holds for PT Platts and all those I am able to train and support.

✨ Let’s grow together ✨

Shout out to Future Fit who have taught me so much about becoming the best PT I can!
